Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time and Part-Time
Austin Recovery provides affordable, effective and compassionate drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are currently seeking dedicated full-time and part-time registered nurses (RN) to work in our detox unit for all shifts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Make relevant entries in client medical charts
- Monitor client vital signs for withdrawal signs/symptoms
- Administer medication when ordered by Medical Director
- Write reports as required
- Assist physician during medical history interviews and physical exams
- Complete nursing assessments on clients admitted to detox
- Maintain unit milieu and provide a safe and secure environment
- Attend job-related meetings; in-service training and staff development training
- Perform other related assignments as directed by Nurse Manager
Qualifications:
- Current Texas RN credentials
- Must be Red Cross CPR/First Aid certified upon hire or within two weeks of hire.
- Good communication skills, ability to work with co-workers and establish rapport with clients.
- Skill to coordinate work with other AR departments, agencies, organizations, individuals and the public.
- Ability to work flexible hours and on call.
Education & Experience:
- At least one year previous experience working in the field of alcoholism/drug addiction preferred
- Nursing degree required
