Admissions Specialist

Austin Recovery provides compassionate and effective drug and alcohol treatment since 1967. We are seeking a full time Admissions Specialist for our Admissions Department. Qualified applicants must be dependable and professional. Competitive salary and benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Primary phone responsibility for self-funded program.
• Responsible for telephone conversations or inquiry calls in Admissions.
• Responsible for verifying insurance and scheduling patients with insurance.
• Liaison between insurance provider and clinician.
• Responsible for identifying referents with potential for multiple referrals.
• Effectively market Austin Recovery to potential self-funded clients.
• Prepare the daily board with correct numbers and funding.
• Screen clients for intake process.
• Screen clients over phone and make treatment recommendations.
• Complete client intakes/assessments.
• Work with families of Self-funded clients on extension of stay where necessary.
• Notify Director of Admissions and Marketing Dept of new referral sources and potential contracts.
• Write letters for self-funded clients to attorneys, judges, etc.
• Cover Admission's desk and/or phones when Administrative Assistant is absent or at lunch.
• Assista in keeping clients/staff safe in waiting room.
• Troubleshoot any problems that may occur during the day.
• Performs other related assignments as directed by Director of Admissions and Admissions Call Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Counselor Intern or LCDC preferred.
• Minimum of one year of marketing/sales experience.
• Knowledge of the Recovery field and 12 step programs preferred.
• Must be detail oriented with good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
