Volunteer Program
Welcome to Austin Recovery’s new and improved Volunteer Program! We have many volunteer opportunities available in a variety of areas and skill-sets!
UPDATE: We have revised our volunteer application process for 12-Step volunteers. Austin Recovery is excited to announce a new partnership with Communities for Recovery, an organization that specializes in the orientation, training, and management of Peer Recovery Support and Peer Recovery Coach volunteers. Please review the information below carefully. Beginning May 1, 2011, all 12-Step and recovery-related volunteers will be required to re-apply and re-orient, regardless of having attended volunteer orientation at Austin Recovery previously.
Volunteers bringing services not directly related to recovery such as financial planning, yoga and administrative project assistance will continue to be supervised by Austin Recovery’s Volunteer Manager, Will Miley.

Starting May 1, 2011, Communities for Recovery will be screening, orientating, training, assigning and managing current and new Austin Recovery 12 Step and recovery related volunteers (including chairing or supporting sanctioned AA/NA/CA/Alanon groups, speakers, etc.). As a result, there will be new sobriety, screening and monitoring requirements associated with the organization’s volunteer programs.
Beginning May 1, 2011, all 12-Step and recovery-related volunteers will be required to re-apply and re-orient through Communities for Recovery, regardless of having attended volunteer orientation at Austin Recovery previously.
