Volunteer Program
Volunteers are needed to give their time and talent at Austin Recovery in a variety of areas including:
- Financial Planning
- Interview Training
- Resume' Consulting
- Parenting Skills Instruction
- Data Entry
- Yoga or Dance Instruction
- Exercise & Weight Training
- Legal Consulting
- Videography
- Interpreting & Translating (Spanish mostly)
- 12-Step Meetings
- Sponsoring
- Hairstyling
- More!
Qualifications for Volunteer Work:
- Interest in and knowledge of chemical dependency recovery
- Some knowledge of the 12 Step support groups (AA/NA/CA/Alanon)
- Skills appropriate to the volunteer position
- Ability to be genuine and support Austin Recovery's treatment philosophy
If you are personally in 12 Step Recovery, you need to have:
- Minimum of six months of sobriety to visit Austin Recovery meetings accompanied by a member of a 12 Step group with 1 year or more
- Minimum one year of sobriety to bring meetings in on your own
- A sponsor, attend meetings and have worked all the 12 Steps
Apply to be a Volunteer
- Submit application including references
- Complete interview with volunteer coordinator
- Attend orientation and/or training
- Set up specific time and responsibilities for volunteer work
