Volunteer Program

Volunteers are needed to give their time and talent at Austin Recovery in a variety of areas including administrative, 12 Step support, treatment program enhancement, and special event participation.

Qualifications for Volunteer Work:

• Interest in and knowledge of chemical dependency recovery
• Some knowledge of the 12 Step support groups (AA/NA/CA/Alanon)
• Skills appropriate to the volunteer position
• Ability to be genuine and support Austin Recovery's treatment philosophy

If you are personally in 12 Step Recovery, you need to have:

• Minimum of six months of sobriety to visit Austin Recovery meetings accompanied by a member of a 12 Step group with 1 year or more
• Minimum one year of sobriety to bring meetings in on your own
• A sponsor, attend meetings and have worked all the 12 Steps

Apply to be a Volunteer

1. Submit application including references
2. Complete interview with volunteer coordinator
3. Attend orientation and/or training
4. Set up specific time and responsibilities for volunteer work
