Prescription Drugs also referred to as:
opiates or opioids, which are most often prescribed to treat pain, - examples include: codeine, (Vicodin, Lorcett, Lortab), oxycodone (OxyContin and Percocet), and morphine (Kadian and Avinza); (methodone).
central nervous system (CNS) depressants, which are used to treat anxiety and sleep disorders - examples include: barbiturates (Mebaral and Nembutal), Soma, and benzodiazepines (Valium, Xanax and Klonopin);
stimulants, which are prescribed to treat the sleep disorder narcolepsy, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and obesity - examples include: dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine and Adderall) and methylphenidate (Ritalin and Concerta).
Dual Diagnosis includes: substance dependence or abuse accompanied by a mood disorder such as depression, bipolar disorder, mania, dysthymic disorder; anxiety disorder, PTSD, personality disorder, or mild psychotic disorder.
